How COVID-19 accelerates the digital transformation in training and education

As in previous years, the Wuppertaler Kreis has published its current study 'Trends' in continuing education to inform about current developments in the continuing education market. This time, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on continuing education and the continuing education industry are particularly reflected in the results of the trend study.

COVID-19 has also hit the continuing education sector hard. Classroom events have not been held for almost a year. Currently, participants in continuing education courses are mainly in their home offices. 90% of those surveyed think that these mobile forms of work make digitization in continuing education unavoidable.

COVID-19 will also permanently change training and education

„Online Training ist gekommen um zu bleiben“. Selbst die vor der Pandemie fast zu 100% im Präsenzunterricht abgehaltenen offenen Schulungen werden nach der Pandemie großteils Remote abgehalten.

After all, one-third of all service providers surveyed believe that the COVID 19 pandemic will have a lasting impact on the demand for openly offered training, and that educational offerings could even take place entirely in virtual spaces.
