eLearning Journal rates deskMate’s virtual training computers as “Excellent”

The eLearning Journal has once again subjected deskMate’s virtual training computers to an extensive product test. With the result: “Excellent”, deskMate scored even better. The editors were particularly impressed by the new administration interface, the template-based setup and the simple access management.
Two years after the first test, it is clear that deskMate has been consistently developed both technically and conceptually. The current test focused on the practical implementation of software training – both from the participants’ and the administrators’ and trainers’ perspective.
According to the testers, virtual training environments can be provided even faster and more flexibly with the new version of deskMate. Using a greatly simplified input mask, a training course can be created within a minute with just a few entries. Thanks to the new template function, organizations can independently create, save and reuse complete training environments based on so-called master desktops.

Access is now even easier for participants: just click on the personalized access link – no login or password required. Trainers also receive their own access and can see all participant desktops in one view via the “Trainer View”.
deskMate also scores points from an administrative perspective. The system automatically distributes all accesses, creates temporary user pools and deletes them once the training is complete. This completely eliminates the need for time-consuming manual user administration.
The new “pay-per-use” model, which provides for day-based billing, should also be emphasized. Usage is only charged when a participant actively works with the training computer. A monthly cost freeze applies from the seventh day of use. There are no set-up fees or contract periods – which also makes deskMate attractive for long-term, irregular training formats.
Conclusion:
The conclusion of the product testers is consistently positive. deskMate enables software training in professional, scalable and completely browser-based environments – with minimal administration effort and maximum flexibility. The easy access, the new template system and the fair billing model make the platform a recommendable solution for modern training scenarios.
The eLearning Journal awarded deskMate an “Excellent” rating for this performance with a score of 91 points.
