Hyper-V Nested Virtualization and Pool Desktops

Tekkies watch out. If you want to use Hyper-V Nested Virtualization for your deskMate trainings, then there is something to consider in the network configuration. Otherwise it could happen that all your participants’ desktops have the same IP address, which would of course be bad.

We have prepared an explanatory video for you which explains the necessary steps. You can here to start the video, or click on the image below.

In our example in the explanatory video, the deskMate Hyper-V server has been assigned the IP 192.168.0.128 by the IP server. The Hyper-V network has the IP range 192.168.1.0/24

The Powershell command to configure the NAT (is done on the deskMate Hyper-V server) is:
New-NetNat -Name MyNAT -InternalIPInterfaceAddressPrefix 192.168.1.0/24

The Nested Virtualization option is deactivated by default and must be activated by us. Nested Virtualization requires more system resources and is therefore billed using a different pricing model. If you have any questions or require activation, please contact sales@deskmate.cloud
